I can't believe how quickly time has gone.  I'm sure I've heard it said a million times "They grow up so fast" but I've never experienced it before like I have these last six months.  It feels like yesterday and forever ago that I was pregnant with Lucas.  Just last night Ralph and I were reminiscing about feeling Lucas kick while he was inside of me and wondering what he would be like and being so excited to meet him.  

He is now the cutest thing in the world!  I know all mothers feel that their baby is cuter than all others...but for Lucas it's true!  Or at least he is cuter than many!  He has developed such a personality over these last few months.  He has always been a pretty active baby but in the last few weeks he has really started moving all over the place.  He's rolling, scooting, twisting himself all across the floor.  We've started babyproofing the house and it won't be long before he's crawling all over it.  He can get up on his hands and knees...and then roll over.  He's close to sitting up as well.  He just can't sit still long enough usually to get his balance.  His favorite move seems to be his "baby crunches".  He has the best abs of probably any baby I know.  He's also really become a fan of his cereal.  I've started trying him on baby applesauce and bananas.  Definitely not a fan of those yet and he really shows it. But even then he's cute!

If only he would sleep better.  Even as I sit here typing I hear him waking up from his 20 minute nap...If that long.  He's waking up usually about once during the night still but some nights even more.  I look forward to him taking naps that consistently last longer than 30 minutes.  I can dream right?!

We're attempting our first family mini-vacation to South Carolina to visit family.  I am hoping and praying the car ride will be okay for him.  I'm sure we'll have to schedule plenty of stops to let him free of his carseat for awhile.  I think it will be a lot of fun and hope that he enjoys it too.  We took our first trip to Busch Gardens last week.  He seemed to enjoy himself.  Sometimes I just stop and thank God for what a good baby he is.  When it comes down to it...if he would just sleep a little more he'd be almost perfect!
