I guess I can say that things have been just a bit crazy around here.  I'm counting down...Only six weeks and a day until my due date.  October is a pretty busy month as well so I can only imagine the time will continue to fly.

The last weekend of September Ralph and I took a short "vacation" from the church.  It was definitely a needed time of rest for us.  I had spent the previous weekend working with mom to pack up my entire kitchen.  We're finally starting to move forward with the whole new roof process.  Slowly but there are good signs.  So Mom and I boxed up all of my dishes in the kitchen and kept out just a few "essentials".

During our weekend vacation Ralph and I did a lot of eating out, sleeping, and watching football.  We also got to see "Eagle Eye" in IMAX.  It was so nice to just relax.  Ralph has been going crazy lately trying to work at both jobs and help getting stuff ready with the baby.  So this weekend was a great chance for us to just sit back and do nothing!  We were able to attend the contemporary worship service at First Baptist of Brandon and see some old friends.  Ralph also, with Dad and Michael's help, finished getting the rest of the stuff out of the kitchen and wash room.  They moved the stove, washer and dryer out along with our microwave, the rest of our food,  and  our food storage shelves.  Thankfully we spent that time last month working on cleaning and organizing stuff so that packing up over half of our house hasn't been too difficult--but still a lot of work!

Finally this past week work actually started on our house.  They tore down our wash room, the carport, and our big closet in our office.  Hopefully by the end of this week we'll have the new roof on and they can begin to gut the kitchen and we can get the mold people here.  We've been spending most of the time over at my parents house and just sleeping and showering here.  I'm so anxious to get all of the work done for several reasons--1 so we can have our house back in order instead of the craziness it's in right now, 2 so we can have a brand new kitchen and washroom and add on, and 3 so I can FINALLY start getting the baby room ready.  I can't wait to get in there and start painting and setting up the room.

As far as the pregnancy itself is concerned, overall things are going well.  I do get tired very easily these days.  I try to get to the gym about 3 times a week and do some cardio so I don't get too horribly out of shape and out of the habit of working out.  When I went to the doctor last week we got to hear the baby's heartbeat and everything is good with him.  However, I've been having some pains in my right hip.  My doctor said it might be sciatica.  Sometimes my hip has made it very painful to even walk but overall it's just been annoying.  I try to not walk too much or lay on my right side so that it doesn't bother me.  I'm definitely looking forward to being through with my pregnancy to help with relieving that pain.  Lucas also has been extremely active lately.  Occasionally it hurts or he starts kicking as I'm trying to sleep but overall it's a really cool experience to see my belly moving around like crazy at times.  That has been a fun part of the pregnancy.

I have my shower coming up on Thursday, October 23rd at 7pm.  I'm so looking forward to getting baby stuff to add to what I have and getting that room ready.  I hope that the house work moves quickly so we have a place for the presents!!  Sometimes I still can't believe we're about to be parents!  I'm definitely trying to get as much sleep as I can right now since I know that will be rare when Lucas arrives! Only 43 days (give or take a few days) left!!
