About the ralphwilliams.com blog

As the lead web designer for ArchiTech Software and Web Solutions focusing on DotNetNuke Skinning, I have been working with DotNetNuke for several years now. I created this blog to give back to the DNN community as I have learned invaluable information from several people that have been willing to give of their time to help. As a non-developer, I enjoy the flexibility that DotNetNuke provides, and with a little bit of tweaking have been able to talk a small step into the developer's world.

This blog is intended to be a guide in making your DotNetNuke websites more usable and good looking. I do not claim to be the "authority" on DNN skinning, but I do believe that I can provide some insight through the many experiences and headaches that I have experienced with designing for DNN. If I have posted something and you find that you may have a better way to do it, please feel free to let me know; however, I do ask that you keep it respectful.

About Ralph

As I have already mentioned, I am a web designer. I have been designing websites for several years with most of the time being spent on DotNetNuke. Before web design, I was a Locomotive Engineer (that's someone who drives trains) and Conductor for CSX for about 8 years. I got tired of the ridiculous hours (or lack thereof) to pursue something w/ more desirable hours and just sort of fell into web design.

I have a beautiful wife, Shannon (don't we all say that?, but mine really is!) and I am just now enjoying the awesome thrills of fatherhood with my son Lucas (has his own site: http://www.lucaswilliams.com). I am a Christian and I am very involved in my church (sometimes, I feel too involved!). I believe that we as Christians are not to be judgmental but loving. Judgmental Christians get on my nerves! If you would like to find out more about this please don't hesitate to contact me.

My greatest passion however, is music. I have been playing the drums for over 20 years and the guitar for about 6 years. I love learning new things about how to be a better musician and I believe I would go crazy without it in my life.
